Hello folks I hope you are well, if not a bit cold. Yet another freezing weekend put paid to week 18 of season 2009 / 2010. No more games now until Sunday 10th January 2010 when weather permitting we start playing again. There will of course be the inevitable backlog of games but we will as we always do work together to turn this round , but I stress we do need everyone , teams , committee and officials to pull together in order to achieve our aim.
I will at some point update the news page during our festive break, and of course the first fixture card of the New Year will be posted as well.
All that’s really left to say now is …. To all who read these pages and participate in Morning football have a very Happy Christmas and a Peaceful, Healthy New Year.
God Bless and take care... Alex.

Hello again morning people. Well the frozen conditions certainly won the day today, all local games off and only the Cutty Sark Scottish game played out of town. Cutty went out, so that just leaves three….. the best of luck lads, you will probably need it just to get the games played. Never mind anything else!!
The fixture card for week 18, which is Sunday 20th December will be the last games until Sunday 10th January 2010. It is just a case of hoping the weather allows us to put together a few weeks without any postponements as we head into the new year.
As you now know I eventually managed to draw up a fixture list for week 17 but the fact that I had to wait until Monday to do it caused me to miss the monthly meeting, something I do not like doing, but it had to be done because I was not available on the Tuesday to finalise fixtures, pitches, refs or the Tele Friday news page and with Wednesday being the cut off for everything there was not much room for manoeuvre.
Oh and by the way I hear there were a few of the teams missing on Monday. Why was that lads? The dates for the meetings throughout the year are issued at the start of the season. They are in the Association hand book, they are on the League Web Site, they are posted with the fixtures in Thursday’s Tele and also in the Friday Tele as well with the Morning news. Anyway here are a few dates for your diary. Scottish Sunday Cup 5th round 10th January 2010 / Tayside Sunday Amateur Cup 3rd round 24th January 2010 / and all teams please note the next Monthly meeting is on...Monday 11th January 2010.
Can I also say that even at this stage of the season all our cup finals will be in the month of May 2010. The particular date for each final will be announced nearer the time but if you are thinking of asking for a free date in May... Please think again!!!!
That's it for this week lads, I will catch up with you again next week. All the best and take care. Alex.

Well what an absolute bloody shambles this week. Another fixture list re-hashed in midweek, four walkovers in the Tayside cup and yet another result not phoned in. I have been informed that the next round of the Scottish is due next week, but I do not have a list of the ties. The outcome of all this is that I am holding off posting a fixture card on the web site this week until I am satisfied that I will not have to spend time doing it all over again. The words ‘pissed right off ‘just about sum it up!!!! For the past few weeks I have as usual spent a lot of time on Sunday nights pulling together a fixture list for the following week as well as results, news page etc only to have to go back to the drawing board a couple of days later to revise the fixtures. Now after Sunday I have Referees and Pitches to allocate on Monday. Tuesday sees the column for the Tele drafted up and after that… well believe it or not I do have a life away from this. Well F..k that, it will be multiple fixture lists soon enough when the midweek games start without having to do it now. Apologies for the rant lads but I am seriously fed up getting messed about.
The story of the games that did go ahead saw Fintry Athletic notch up a terrific away win over the Forfar League Leaders Abbey Athletic. Goals from Jamie Bell and Deano White booking a place in round three. Club 67 found Broadway in generous mood, helping themselves to a sackful of goals. George Murphy (5) Lee Rolaveldt (4) James Tracey (4) Ryan Rigden, Stu Brown, Ken McIntyre and Ricky Shaw all on target for the Club.
Ferry Innter and Angus Thistle went to extra time before the Ferry lad won 5-1. it was 1-1 at 90 minutes but the Jags hopes went bye bye when they had three players sent off. Sean Tucker hit four for Innter with Chris Reilly also on target, while Tam Ballantine was on target for the Jags. Sandys never really hit top form but still won 4-1 away to Abbotsford. Two from Ewen Grant, George Sutherland and an own goal for Big Webby’s side.
Lochee Central won the derby against Lochee Planet coming from behind to win 2-1. Billy Carlin’s side showed tremendous spirit to bounce back after going a goal down. Sean Johnstone equalised before Ryan Balfour grabbed the winner midway through the second half.
Cutty Sark eventually managed to play their Scottish tie in Glenrothes and came back with an 8-2 win. Five goals from Lee Hunt, Ashley Jackson, Errol Johnstone, and Wayne Reilly also hitting the net.
Blackness played Doc Ferrys in a Pilot Garage First Division game and clocked up a vital three points to go fourth in the table. Goals from Chris Small, Neil ‘Hit Man’ Harvey, Wayne ‘No 10’ Lorimer, Craig Miller and another hat trick from Scotty McLeod capped a fine Blackness performance.
