Hello again morning people, I hope you are good. Well almost a full house again today apart from one game, which saw Douglas L.F.P. v Dundee Vics, Game OFF. What’s that you say… couldn’t they get another pitch like a few other games today. Answers on a postcard!!!!! That’s another midweek game chalked up.
Cutty Sark set up a last 16 meeting with Douglas Athletic in the Scottish cup next week. A 4-1 win in Forfar over Vollies with Lee Hunt (2), Nicky Deuchars and Grant McIntyre getting the goals. Cutty will go into the game as favourites. The Blue Man U are a bit off colour just now and todays Centre Cars cup defeat from Tayport will not have helped their mood. It was all going so well as they led the the Fifers 2-0 with goals from Mattew Leitch and Mark Neilson. The ‘neebors’ came storming back though to edge it 3-2 and book a semi final spot. No comment from Jocky this week, I hope he is OK!!!
Bonargrove ‘Napped’ Dundee Social to join Tayport in the Semi’s and shatter the Social dream of lifting the trophy for the fourth year on the trot. A hat trick from Craig Stevens and singles for Tommy King and Andy Cameron sealing a magnificent Bonar performance and setting them up nicely for their Scottish tie aganst L.B.C. in Edinburgh next week.
Angus Thistle clinched a top two finish in their Ross Kirk Trophy section. A terrific 4-0 away win at Gauldry saw Peter Lindsay, Daz Melville, Mark Hird and a back from suspension Tam Ballantine free kick cracker see off the Fife Team. The Jags will have to settle for runners up with Blackness pipping them on goal difference. Jags will now play the winners of section (B), which has a few permutations to sort out.
Bayview are in pole position in group B, winning their last game against a much improved Doc Ferrys 2-0. They will now await the other games to see if they stay top or have to settle for runner up.
Fintry Athletic set up a nail biting finish in section B with a fine 4-0 home win against Ferry Innter. On the Scoresheet was Ross ‘can’t miss’ McFarlane and a brilliant treble from Danny ‘Scholes’ McGregor. A well deserved win for Jim Martin’s lads and Ferry’s Noel Berrie agreed. ‘We were not very goo, in fact we couldn’t score in a brothel today’ WHAT was that? surely not Noel, and by the way what do you know about brothels?
A win for Fintry Athletic away to Harlequins will see them top the section and Bayview will be runners up, however a four goal win for Quins will see them clinch second spot with Bayview winning the group. Are you still with me… good I will go on. A draw for Fintry will see them finish second and what about Lochee Central you ask… well the Lochee lads are a long shot but they can still do it by hitting a sackload past Doc Ferrys coupled with a Harlequins win over Fintry and they could nip in and nick second spot.
BAYVIEW - For 13, Against 9, GD +4
HARLEQUINS - For 12, Against 12, GD LEVEL
FINTRY - For 10, Against 2, GD +8
LOCHEE CENT - For 8, Against 13, GD -5
Cheers,
Alex.

Hello again morning people, I hope you are well. A full fixture list completed, well done to you all. It was a filthy day weather wise but we managed to overcome it.
Cutty Sark got their long awaited Scottish tie played and made no mistake against Mavrix a hat trick from Grant Mcintyre, a Nicky Deuchars double with singles for Lee Hunt and Paul Johnstone. Cutty now play Forfar side Vollies with a tie against Douglas Athletic awaiting the winners. Whoever comes through these games will have a home tie in the last 16 against Gantry AFC or Bogarts AFC who edged out Gauldry in round four
Dundee Social were impressive as they put out Drumchapel. Two goals from Gavin ‘Kaka’ McMillan and a Mark ‘Lampard’ Scott single earning the Social a home tie in the last 16 against Westquarter AFC from Falkirk and District. Dougie Tosh was tremendous in goal for the dark blues with Gogs McDonald also a star man. Bonargrove are going great guns in the Scottish but they tumbled out of the Tayside Cup against Fintry Athletic. A double from Mark ‘Sheva’ Middleton and a Davie Hinds counter not enough to stop a 4-3 defeat. Bonar must pick things up again before they travel to face L.B.C AFC from Edinburgh in the last 16 of the Scottish. L.B.C put out Welfare side Dundee Argyll in the last 32.
On the domestic front Douglas Athletic and Crescent Star went to the top of the Strathmore Glazing Premier Division with wins over Dundee Vics and Tayport respectively. Douglas struggled to overcome a hard working Vics side. Arthur Innes , Davie ‘Ticker’ Simpson and Terry ‘Smoothy’ Gray got the goals in a 3-2 win but it did not impress gaffer Jocky Stewart. ‘I must have done something really bad in another life to have to put up with watching Dundee at Dens on Saturday and then this on Sunday Morning. I am not happy!’ Wee Jocky went on and on and on and by the time I had finished listening to this on the answer machine I was getting seriously depressed. Come on Jocky gie us a smile!!!!
Crescent Star are looking good just now and an impressive win over a good Tayport side confirmed this. A debut to remember for Rad Al Nadaf who turned in a five star show and notched a couple of goals. Ian Fleming completed the scoring and a great day was rounded off by keeper Gary Mcleod who saved a Tayport penalty. Tayport will travel in the last 16 of the Scottish to face either Planet AFC / Broadwood Clyde / Greenock Morton SC / or the Sports Bar FC.
Blackness notched up a 4-1 win away to Doc Ferrys in the Pilot Garage First Division thanks to goals from Chris Ward / Craig Miller / Kevin Grubb and Peter ‘The Real No 10’ Robertson. Craig Gilruth hit a consolation goal for Doc’s.
That’s it for now folks all the best and take care.
Cheers,
Alex.

Hello again, and a Happy New year to you all. Well its back to the madness and mayhem and everything else that goes with it.
We really need to be playing every week, so let’s get on with it and hope for the best with the weather.
The first monthly meeting of 2009 is next Monday the 12th January, as always every club must be represented.
Several of our clubs are still not contacting their match official to confirm allocated fixtures, and several of our referees are still not reporting them to us. Lets make it clear… your club if reported for this and found guilty as charged WILL be fined. Make sure you are not fined by contacting your referee and following the rules. To the clubs who make up their own rules… the executive committee await your presence!! It has been very quiet the last couple of weeks on the football front, so it will be a short news page this week but I look forward to keeping you in touch with all the gossip and stories as we progress towards the end of the season.
All the Best,
Alex.
