Another mixed bag today. Cutty Sark and Angus Thistle both off again and now off until 11th January 2009. If these games are off on the 11th what happens then? Answers on a postcard!!!
A Jamesie McCord Inspired Dundee Social won away against Mrs Formans and will now play in round four through in Edinburgh against Currie AFC on the 11th January. Bonargrove and Douglas Athletic are through to round five or as Mr Johnny Foreigner calls it ‘the round of 32’. A goal from Mark ‘Sheva’ Middleton capped a brilliant team performance from Bonar as they put out the Harbour Lights. Douglas Athletic came from a goal down at half time to triumph over Pentland in Edinburgh. Goals from Mark ‘Bridget’ Neilson, Davie ‘Honeybunny’ Honeyman, and Russell ‘The Hedge’ Headridge in a 3-1 win. Jocky was a happy man afterwards.
‘We were scintillating, just terrific and I would just like to praise our goalie Graeme Finnan who made a save similar to that one by Gordon Banks but only Graeme’s was better’. That’s Jocky modest as ever and we love him for it!!!
I will just finish off all things Scottish with this ‘the round of 32’ is due on Sunday 11th January 2009 and we are still struggling to play ‘the round of 128’….Oh well things can only get better!!!!!
On the domestic front Blackness put four past Doc Ferrys, 6n target Chris Small, Wayne ‘No 10’ Lorimer, Craig Stevenson and Martin Harvey, with Gordon Smith notching for the Ferry lads.
Fintry and Ferry Innter played out a 1-1 draw, with Mike Maroney on the scoresheet for Innter.
I will post the fixtures for 11th January during the holiday period, so don’t panic I have not forgot.
I will close now, but before I do let me take this opportunity to wish you all a Very Happy Christmas and a safe, peaceful New Year.
Cheers,
Alex.

Hello again lads and lasses. Well we at last had action today, although it was a mixed bag. Some off and some on - some we won, some we didn’t.
In the Scottish third round all five ties were reversed and blow me three were postponed yet again. The two that went ahead saw Bonargrove win by the odd goal in three against Central Athletic. Goals from Robbie Smith and Mark ‘Sheva’ Middleton had Norrie Burns and his team smiling, not for long though because they travel again in round four next week.
A second half Danny Moir goal did the business for Douglas Athletic away to Bobbys Bar. The Blue Man U are through in Edinburgh next week to face Pentland in round four. Round four saw Gauldry go out after extra time to Bogarts , with Lochee Central also shown the exit door by the odd goal in nine against Carmondean. Sandys were just seconds from going through against The Just but lost a last gasp equaliser. The Liff Road side eventually going through after a penalty shoot out which they won 3-0. Goals during the 120 minutes coming from John Foley (2), Kevin Kelly, Monday Ogbobe, and David McDonald. A great performance from the lads which had old grumpy Graeme ‘Webby’ Webster jubilant!!! Spare a thought for goalie Andrew Ward who broke his wrist during the penalty shoot out.
The Tayside cup eventually got going with Blackness going out against Crown Inn despite goals from, Wayne "No 10" Lorimer (2) Chris Small and Dave "Monty" Montgomerie, while Dundee Vics put out Corner Hotel 4-2. Goals from James Tracey, a double for David Fyffe and a single from Craig Ellingford.
In the Pilot Garage First Division Ferry Innter had their goalie Michael Young to thank for their win over FC Planet. The number 1 was magnificent and defied Planet time and time again. Goals from Sean Tucker and Steven Young sealed three points for the Innter.
Now I have said time and time again that we will get through our backlog but only if everyone pulls together and does their bit. So I will now once again remind everyone of the following, I will also put it in block capitals so it is quite clear.
IF YOUR GAME IS PUT OFF AT THE SCHEDULED VENUE ON SUNDAY MORNING, BOTH TEAMS AND REF SHOULD MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO GET THE GAME PLAYED AT WHATEVER VENUE IS PRACTICAL, PLAYABLE AND AVAILABLE.
Now that is quite clear… yes it is even to the teams who make up their own rules. Any teams who are not happy with this directive, please make arrangements to attend the next executive meeting where we will sit down and "discuss".
That’s it for this week all the best and take care.

Hello again morning people. Well that’s another week of games lost…well almost, we got a couple of third round ties played with Lochee Central and Tayport going through to round four which will be played this coming Sunday.
Five of our clubs will now have to travel after their third round ties were put off for the third Sunday in a row. Does it get any worse…er well yes, if they are off through there three weeks in a row then they effin come back here!!!!
I always work on the assumption that January / February we will lose 50% of games cast. I really hope that is not the case this season, because if it is, given that we have not played for nearly a month, it will be one helluva deep shit hole for us to climb out of. We are now facing a situation where the Scottish and the Tayside cups are way behind schedule. Our domestic plans may well have to be looked at again in the coming weeks. So it is a bit doom and gloom at the moment… but we always come through so don’t get too down, before you know where we are it will be the end of March and on the countdown to the season’s finale. What it will take is everyone pulling together and making sure the games get played where at all possible.
Now it is the season of goodwill to all men and all that, so myself and the rest of the committee went out on Friday for a sherry or two. As we walked past the Caird Hall stage door on our way to the next watering hole there was a bit of a commotion. Who should appear but wee Jason Donovan!!! remember him, Neighbours, I’m a celebrity, oh and he had a few records out as well. Anyway as I looked at the assorted females trying to get pictures and autographs who should I see right next to Jason our beloved Chairman Tom and not only that as he stood with his arm around megastar Jason our Tom was delighting him with a verse or two. ‘I should be so lucky’ and I almost wet myself laughing. So it turns out that Tom and Jase are best mates. Well it looked that way as Jase waved at Tom as we walked away. Come to think of it I’ve never seen a wave with just one finger, might not be best mates after all!!!!!
Stayed in and watched the telly on Saturday night. 6.15pm, a load of z list celebrity’s dressed up like a dogs dinner prancing about trying to dance. …Oh fuck this, click and its over to channel 3 and a lot of young spotty oiks dressed up like a dogs dinner are trying to impress with their singing. Singing, call that singing aw to fuck wi this, click and back to the dancers who are disappearing by this time up their own arses. Click and it’s back to the ‘singers’ who are all howlin and greetin because somebody has been voted aff. By now it’s 10.30pm I am losing the will to live and have run oot of lager. What was wrang wi Rolf Harris and The young Generation on a Saturday night? (if your under 30 ,you won’t have a clue what the eff I am on about).
All the best and take care.
