Hello Morning people, I hope you are well. The Tayside Cup kicks into action next Sunday but already we have a problem caused by….. yep spot on The Scottish. The referee for the Crown Inn v Angus Thistle game in Arbroath today failed to appear and consequently will now be played this coming Sunday. Assuming that is the match referee puts in an appearance.
Most of our clubs made progress today in the Scottish… deep joy!! Sandys supremo ‘Victor‘ Webster was over the moon as opposed to recent bouts of being sick as a parrot. His team had a great 4-2 win over Michelin. The big man takes all the banter in great spirit so well done Webby but remember it’s one game at a time and it is only the Scottish !!!
Douglas Athletic snatched victory from old rivals Harlequins with a last gasp winner, Hit Man Moir grabbing a brace while Dundee Social and Cutty Sark posted a sack load of goals against Strathtay and Letham respectively. Main man for the Social was Craig McKenzie who hit 4 goals in 5 second half minutes. While Social old boy Grant McIntyre was again on the scoresheet for Cutty.
Bonargrove also had a good win over AFC Plough. Mark Middleton notching a hat-trick.
It will be a brief news page this week, I will see you all at the meeting. All the best… oh and I will post the next Instalment of the A to Z next week. Cheers, Alex.

Hello again lads and lasses hope you are all well. Deep joy it is Scottish cup time next Sunday and all that comes with that. As you will see by the fixtures we have agreed with the Forfar League that all our ties with them will kick off at 11.00AM. Any ties between our own clubs will also kick off at 11.00AM. All other ties I presume will be PM kick offs although this is the Scottish and anything can and usually does happen. In the coming weeks and months be prepared for games on , games off, cock ups here, cock ups there and so on and so on, but hey what’s that compared to a good away day on the piss in deepest darkest winter. Please remember that the Referees tariff in the Scottish is different to our own domestic fee.
The Tayside cup ties originally scheduled for the 12th will now be cast for the 19th. If your Scottish tie is off next week then it will go ahead on the 19th and so on and so on. Yep it’s that time of the season again!! A wee reminder if you need one that the next Monthly meeting goes ahead on the 13th October at the usual venue at the usual time and as usual if you do not attend you will be fined.
Headliners today no doubt are Ferry Innter who notched up their first win of the season when they beat Doc Ferrys 3-2. Well done lads, the heads could have gone down after so many defeats but it just goes to show if you stick together and keep working away the rewards will come.
Four J’s halted Harlequins unbeaten league run with a terrific 3-2 win at Cairdy. Angus Thistle and Cutty Sark are the only unbeaten teams this season. The run for both goes on after wins over FC Planet and Bonargrove in the Ross Kirk and Alex Smith Trophies.
Blackness who can’t buy a win in the league followed up last weeks Ross Kirk Trophy win over Four J’s with another sectional victory, this time a terrific away win at Gauldry.
Oh Dear, Oh Dear, Oh Dear, Tayport 2-1 Sandys and poor old Victor…sorry Graeme Webster of Sandys slumps into more despair. ‘I can’t believe it,another game we should have won Blah Blah, a blatant last minute penalty we didnae get Blah Blah Blah when is our luck gonnae change, Blah Blah Blah Blah’ ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzz!! Any way where was I …. Oh yes what aboot Tayport another fine win and they move up to second in The Strathmore Glazing Premier Division. Can the Fifers keep up the challenge?
I have received a letter from the Parks Dept. A letter they say which was sent out to all associations in the area. I will give a detailed report at next Monday’s meeting but the letter centred on games kicking off late. No messing here lads, if you are in the habit of kicking off late, that bad habit had better change or the Association will have to change it for you!!
I will finish off now, all the best and take care. Alex.
