Hello again lads and lasses. This is just a wee update on all things morning. The AGM has long gone and the countdown is on for the start of Season 2010/2011. The new season will commence on Sunday August 22nd and the first monthly meeting of the new season is on Monday August 23rd. The Executive Committee is the same as last season and all contact details will again be posted on the Association website. I am currently sorting out Referee list / Secretary List / Team Colours / Monthly meeting dates / and hope to have them on the website very soon.
We will have an odd team in the Pilot Garage First Division but this will really only affect teams for the first three or four weeks then the Scottish and Tayside Cups will come into play.
The two divisional trophies will again be played on a sectional basis as previous seasons and they will be drawn at the August meeting. A decision as to the format of the Association League Cup and McGuire Trophy will be made soon and will be posted on the website.
We are still on the lookout for sponsors andNB. Was the world cup just no the biggest let doon ever ? and what aboot they trumpets ARGHhhhhhhhh……… are in discussion with some interested parties. The longstanding ones we have, namely Strathmore Glazing and Pilot Garage are again on board with hopefully Centre Cars also joining them and we greatly appreciate their help. We are however needing more, hence the search and discussions. Everything is in place and we will hopefully again have a great season. The website is here to keep you informed and is updated every week and the Friday Tele column is also a great platform for our Association. Feel free to phone and leave your match details or anything else on the answer machine after the game on Sunday , but before 5.00pm please and …….keep it clean , well cleanish !!!
So have you been on holiday ? I am just back and had a brilliant time apart from getting charged 10 quid for being 1kg over with my luggage. Couldnae effin believe it , what an effin cheek at least Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask when he took money from strangers !!
And what aboot the weather experts yes the same ones…. Well they only went and got it wrang again. One minute they are imposing a hosepipe ban and the next, well thousands of folk are being flooded out of home!! You couldnae mak it up as they say. So for the coming season I have decided to ignore everything they say and when they come on the TV (can you believe they actually get TV time) It gets switched over or aff!!!
So come on lets enjoy what’s left of the summer cos it’s a lang winter. In addition to the shite weather , we also have the singing competition , the dancing competition , the eating kangaroo bolloks competition , the skating competition and we actually pay a licence to watch this crap !!!
Roll on the fitba season it’s the only thing that keeps us sane. Fitba and beer, cannae beat it.
