News Update 30.01.12

This weeks fixtures have now been posted. There is one Scottish Cup fixture, one Tayside Trophy fixture, one Premier League fixture, one McGuire Trophy fixture, one Alex Smith Trophy fixture and last but not least, one Ross Kirk Trophy fixture.

Doc Ferrys, Blackness, Tayview UTD all have free weeks, Cutty Sark have no game.

Mixed fortunes for morning teams in the Tayside cup. Harlequins booked their place in the last eight courtesy of a good away win over Abbey Athletic. Two goals from Scott McKenzie with counters from Gavin Traynor, John McIntosh and Damian Coogan wrapping up a good 5-2 victory.

Douglas Athletic are in great form just now and it continued against welfare side West End Albion. Sean Johnston hit a double with Abby Rafiq, Scott Drumm and a brilliant individual goal from Ricky Ferguson which had gaffer Parve Khan singing his praises “Bergkampesque” was how Parve described it.

Michelin hit Blackness with some clinical finishing at Fairmuir Park to move into the Tayside quarter finals. Kevin Johnston , Mark Gorthly, Michael Bannan, Ryan Gray, Lee Tracey, Kevin Scott and Steven Reid (2) all hitting the net for the factory side. A comfortable score line but not entirely fair on Blackness who put plenty into the game but found last seasons semi finalist’s so sharp in front of goal.

Cutty Sark won the east end derby with Fintry Athletic to progress in the Alex Smith Trophy. Goals from Terry Connell and Barry Heggie giving Cutty an odd goal in three win.
